My Oral Surgery

Welcome! These sets of pages will describe my oral surgery and track my recovery. Most of these pages have pictures, there are currently 75, which I've tried to make small, but please have patience while they load. I'm doing these pages just for all of you, so if you want something I don't have, let me know.

Picture Hint: if you click on any of the included pictures, you'll get a bigger version. To print the bigger version, since there are no menu items, press <CTRL-P>.

11 March, 2002 UPDATE!

I just received an e-mail from someone who used my site to research their own surgery. I originally setup this site to let my extended family know how I was recovering, but I'm glad these pages can be of use to others. Here's an edited copy of the e-mail:

First, I would like to thank Dr. David Kurpius from the Manship Shool of Mass Communication (Journalism) here on campus. Dave and I worked together while I was running the labs in Journalism and he loaned me one of their really nice Sony digital still camera's (a model DKC-ID1) with a 10M PCMCIA PC Card flash memory. Very nice little toy that only costs about $2500!!!

Of course I also need to thank The Office of Computing Services, who as many of you know, assigned me a really nice laptop to use before the Winter '98 holidays, an IBM ThinkPad 770ED with 64M of RAM, a 6G HD and a 14.1" TFT display with DVD ROM and audio.

I also need to thank our house guest, Kathy Ropers, who has had to put up with just as much balogna as Becky since I've been home, slurping, burping, etc. through my recovery.

Last, but certainly not least, I need to thank Becky who has continually supported me through the entire event (although she sometimes got more anxious about things than I did), and who went against her common sense and took as many pictures as she did. She's done a great job!

Thanks to all!!!
