Mostly me laying in bed again, but I did get outside and play with the dogs some (I threw the ball very gently to them and basically made them dump it back in my waiting hand). Becky thought she took more pictures of that, but this is the only one I found (hey, it's digital, maybe she lost some 'bits!')

I know this is a little out of the ordinary, but I don't think we took any pictures today. As you can see from this table, I've lost quite a bit of weight. I think you can see it in my pictures too. I'm a somewhat skinny fellow, but with Karate I've actaully been firming up a bit, until now. I'm hoping I can slow this down a bit. I had a bad spell today where I wasn't able to eat because I was nauseous. Well, I was nauseous because I wasn't eating. It was a bad spiral. I actually "bonked" (your brain runs out of glucose, the only sugar it can run on)-- I was shaking a bit and having halucinations. Not fun. At one point, I "woke" up and forced myself to get some juice. I also forced myself to take down some of the liquid pain meds. They taste nasty and I can't stand to swallow it. I try to mix it with water or juice, but I can't hide the taste. Of course, the juice made me sick to my stomach and the pain meds made it worse. I really had to fight vomitting there for a while. I was on my own during this time because Becky was at work. I think (hope) that was the worst of it all.
Despite what I just described, I think I might be on the downhill side of this whole thing. Time will tell. I do spend most of my time either in bed or lying (sleeping) on the couch in the living room. I did stay up last night and watch a T.V. movie. I'm finally getting a feel for what this thing really is. I know that the numbness has gone away and I know when it hurts and when I just think it hurts. I know about my eating now and I think I've got the pain meds figured out. I've actaully taken a shower everyday (except the bath on the second day) and get myself feeling fairly good for a part of the morning. The toughest thing is keeping my mouth clean. I do brush, with toothpaste, but I need to be careful. I know I've got stitches in there, but don't know exactly where. I finally developed a system today where I can use plain old hot water to get most things out, I brush and then I started using Listerene. It really doesn't burn because there's so much junk built up.
Becky called Dr. Philippe this morning, before she left for work, and setup an appointment with him for this Thursday, I think. She also got him to give me another dose of pain meds. I wouldn't have said it (except I did, a paragraph back or so), but I think this is all going ot work out! :)
