I had a wonderful time yesterday afternoon as I got to see StarWars Episode I: The Phantom Menace for a second time. It was twice as good! I was able to follow the story-line more, let my eyes wander and pick up all the visual richness the film offered and I was able to see more of the character development than the first time I watched it. I think the third time, sometime later next week, will be the charm! Part of my increased enjoyment may have come from the fact that I'm already halfway through the book and it provides scenes the movie doesn't show as well as an in depth character development that I might be imposing on the movie. Ah, what's it matter, it's the total experience that counts!

Here are today's requisite pics.

I had a good day of eating yesterday. Here was the menu:

It's nice to be getting some meats other than chicken in me. It's a little rough on the throat, but I can handle it.

We also went out to M's Fine and Mellow Cafe last night to listen to a jazz band and have some drinks (I had a cordial of Bailey's Irish Cream on ice, then a pint of Abita Amber beer). The alcohol didn't effect me the way it did a week ago. I was glad. The music, however, wasn't so good, so we were home by 23:00 and I slept soundly, just needed to get up and use the restroom several times.

This morning I was up with Becky and we headed to the UU for service. It was the "Circle of Life" service and I was early, so Becky could warm up with the choir, and wound up helping to move all the chairs into a big set of concentric half circles, facing west. Pretty big job that I'm surprised they waited this long to do.

Afterwards, we headed to the French restraunt Le Madeline's and I had a potatoe galette and some French tomato soup with cheddar cheese. I wound up putting a lot of the galette in the soup to soften it up, but it was good.

This evening, Becky and I went to a little party for Women's and Gender Studies faculty and had a really good time. I had some wine, that actually set well with me, some basil cheesecake with a wonderful tomato topping and for dessert, an English triffle with cake chunks, custard, fruit and a whipped cream topping. All the things were just soft enough that I could mash them on the roof of my mouth and swallow. I did get some tast from it all, however, and they were all good.

While at the party and eating, one of the rubber bands (on my left side) broke. It was originally attached such that there were three bands connected top to bottom. Now I only have two. I'm seeing the oral surgeon again on Wednesday, so I'm not to worried. Actually, it makes things easier as it was the band more to the front of my mouth. This way it's easier to talk and put a spoon or fork in my mouth.
